Agerola was chosen for the holiday by people like Francesco Crispi and Benedetto Croce and it inspired Salvatore Di Giacomo, who drew inspiration from these places for the song "Moon of Agerola". The production of milk, known even to ancient Roman physician Galen, is still one of the strengths of Agerola that the first Sunday of August is organizing the festival of the 'fiordilatte'.
